The Alumni association of Dr. D. Y. Patil Biotechnology & Bioinformatics Institute is established with the vision to promote a sustained sense of belonging to the Alma Mater among the Alumni by being in regular contact with them. One of the main purposes of alumni associations is to support a network of former graduates who will, in turn, help to raise the profile of the university and to bring together like-minded individuals. Establishment of a long term and better relationship beween the ex- students and the present students of the Institute is also required for promoting the objects ofthe present association. Various personality development programs,seminars, camps and other such related programmes can be done in order to promote the interrelationships of the present students and the alumni. Alumni association also aims to facilitate placements and to help the present students to get help from the ex-students for giving better opportunitiesin placements and to exhort the possibilities of giving practical knowledge and exposures. Undertaking domestic and international consultancy, projects, research collaborations with other Institutes as well as students and also helping the industry and corporate entities are possible through this association. Alumni association also encourages the students for research and development and for higher education. Various social activities like tree plantation, pollution control, health awareness etc. for the well-being of the society are also possible through this. This Alumni association is also necessary for the development and nurturing of self-lessservice in nation building by the youth of the country.
